Given case that there is a new green button placed on the EXAMPLE.com — this button is aims to bring the user to the other page for more information about the website.

CTR — A ratio that shows how often users SEE it and end up CLICKING it, tells how well that button/keyword/ads are performing

CTR equation

CTP — A probability between how well users interact with the that button/keyword/ads

CTP equation

To extend the earlier example case:

EXAMPLE.com clause 1.1

  • There are 2 users who visit the page(user A and user B)
  • User A clicks NONE
  • User B clicks 5 Times
  • Then,
  • CTR = 2.5, CTP =0.5

Explanation for CTR
There are 2 users who visiting this page and only 5 clicks occurred then

Explanation for CTP
There are 2 users who visiting the page and only 1 of them who actually interact with the certain button, then

EXAMPLE.com clause 1.2 — later, another user has joined..welcome user C

  • There are 3users who visit the page(user A, B and user C)
  • User A clicks NONE
  • Users B, C clicks 5,10 times as following order
  • Then, CTR = 5 CTP =0.66

Explanation for CTR
There are 3users who visiting this page and 15 clicks occurred — 5 from users B and 10 from users C, then

Explanation for CTP
There are 3users who visiting the page and 2 of them who actually interact with the certain button, then

See! the different between numbers according to the different purposes.
Note that CTP will expressed as a number between 1 and 0 where is CTR will expressed as a number ≥ 0
